More Than a Team Picture. A Portrait of the Athlete.

Athletic Portraits is a new photographic service I have been developing for some time. While this particular type of portraiture is new to my business, it draws on more than 40 years of professional photography, including decades of commercial photography, portraiture, lighting and image creation, along with my years photographing college and professional sports.

I have taken everything I have learned throughout my career and brought it together to create something specifically for today's young athletes.

Celebrating the Athlete

For many young people, high school athletics represents much more than playing a sport.

It represents years of practices, competition, early mornings, long days and hard work. Along the way, they have learned about commitment, discipline, teamwork and perseverance while also meeting the demands of their education.

Whether it is football, baseball, volleyball, soccer, track and field, hockey, field hockey, lacrosse or one of the many other sports, reaching the high school level—and especially the senior year—is an accomplishment worth remembering.

Athletic Portraits are about celebrating that accomplishment.

A Portrait Created for the Athlete

This is not a traditional team picture.

I allow approximately 45 to 90 minutes for each athlete, giving us time to work with different poses, lighting and expressions and, when appropriate, up to three uniform or outfit changes.

The goal is not to simply photograph an athlete in uniform.

The goal is to create a portrait that captures the athlete as an individual and reflects the sport they have worked so hard to master.

That extra time is something I believe makes a difference.

Two Ways to Create Your Portraits

I offer two ways to purchase Athletic Portraits.

À La Carte

A portrait session is scheduled for your athlete. After the session, you will receive a private gallery from which you can select and purchase individual fine-art prints and other available products.

The Portrait Collection

For families who would like a more complete collection, an inclusive session and selected finished prints are available as a package.

When we schedule your session, we'll discuss the options and pricing so you can choose the approach that works best for you.
